Things to know beforehand
We will get messy, so wear clothes that can get paint on them and/or bring an apron. I have extra aprons as well.
The studio bathroom is under construction, so you’ll need to use the restroom inside our house where we have 2 cats. We keep air filters on all day to keep your exposure to a minimum. If you’re ok with cats, you’re welcome to pet and play with them!
Please feel free to park on the street or in the driveway of our house. There’s plenty of space and we won’t be going anywhere during this workshop.
I’ve got all the supplies you’ll need, but if you’d like to experiment with specific colors and textures, you’re welcome to bring any special papers, acrylic paints or not-sharp texture tools. Fabric, plastic containers (check your recycle bin!), leafs or flowers, or anything you’d like to try using as a masking shape. I have loads of options to share, so please don’t feel the need to get anything!
If you have any accessibility accommodations that I can make for you in any way please let me know! I want to make this space as comfortable for you as I can.
You’re welcome to bring snacks and beverages. I have a hot water kettle for tea.
What to expect
We’ll do an arrival ritual to help calm our souls and prepare our brains for creative expression
Demo of gel printing techniques and applications, where to find things in the studio, and if you have specific goals or intentions you’d like to explore during this workshop.
Free play time! I have different plate sizes for you to work on individually or collaboratively. I’ll be printing with you to help answer questions, provide guidance, and sush any inner critic voices that may arise.
The prints dry quickly so we’ll be able to bundle them up easily for transportation home.
